Is there such thing as an Ancestral Curse?
Today there are many who simply do not believe that curses exist since the majority have moved away from the practices and ideas of folk magic. Although in saying that, there are definitely cultures that still hold the concept of cursing as part of their lives but as far as Western culture goes, when Christianity became the dominant religion and influencing agent, the belief and action of curses faded into the long-forgotten past.
But that doesn’t mean that ancestral curses do not exist. In fact, my experience has shown me both personally and professionally that they absolutely do. In my experience so far, I have discovered five ways that our ancestors would consider our lineage as cursed. And so I outline each of those below:
1. According to our ancestors, our lines can become cursed when the dead are forgotten and not honoured. It’s easy to see how this can happen when our culture of family has been degraded over the years and intergenerational trauma perpetuates. Most who come from heavy trauma barely want to speak to their family let alone know who their ancestors were so they may simply pretend like their family didn’t exist. Another reason for this is dislocation such as refugees and immigration. People start new lives and this can result in neglecting their own ancestral history. After some generations passed, if there has been little love sent to the long-gone ancestors and lots of trauma, a lineage can become darker and more trapped Souls exist on the line who choose not to cross over due to the heavy hearts they carried when alive.
2. A lineage can have many “unwell dead” on the line who chose immense darkness (evil) when they were alive and do not wish for the ancestral line to be healed. They wish to keep the lineage in a low vibrational state, perpetuating sadness, addiction, trauma, poor health and general malaise. In my experience, this is a very challenging type of curse but not one that can’t be resolved.
3. Due to family conflicts, someone in the past could have projected a curse on their family coming from hostility and resentment. This is an example of a projected curse coming from inside the family line and intended to negatively impact the line. This can come about simply by continuing to wish ill will on one’s sisters for example, stating the words with venom aloud or actually doing a spell or ritual to consciously create a curse.
4. A curse can come from outside of the family from someone in the past fell out with their family or held a grudge. A person can be cursed individually but if the curse was strong enough, it can carry down along the lineage affecting the descendants until someone realises that something needs to be done about it. And as I mentioned earlier, the majority of the Western world no longer believes in curses, therefore this allows the curse to carry on through literally hundreds of generations. These were definitely more common in the Western European societies when folk magic was still in place.
5. And finally Ancestral Karma can create what our ancestors perceive as a curse. This happens when one of our ancestors made one or many poor decision/s out of greed, fear or malicious intent and this grave karma continues because their descendants continue to behave with low consciousness and a kind of negative family culture is passed down. Those in later generations are able to feel the consequences even if their behaviour is nowhere near as grave. Because of the negative family culture, this will impact the lives and spiritual evolution of those even in current times.
So, what are some of the signs that your lineage could be suffering a curse?
Presentations such as chronic criminal behaviour, addictions, poor mental health, poor physical health, abusive behaviour and trauma as well as poor luck with money and general loss are just some of the more common things we see.
Also, if you have attempted your healing with genuine effort but with little result, this is something to consider looking into. Even if we don’t have a curse on our line, we may have a lot of ghosts that need transiting over. They can try to get our attention and interfere since they are usually not in a happy state. This is why our ancestral healing is just so important for the evolution of our own Souls, our lineages, our descendants and the health of the Earth in general.
When I do my ancestral healing program, I always check before week one if a curse exists on the line and as part of my ceremonial work, I will clear it. Some of the more intense curses can results in physical and emotional purge experiences and some emotional and mentoring support follows in the next session because sometimes we have lived all of our lives with the density of a curse and we need to re-train ourselves to come into our power liberated from something that has plagued our family for generations.
Also if you want me to look into this for you during an Ancestral Reading, I will certainly do that as part of the reading.
